BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen combines the core of the BASIS Schools Curriculum with much of the language, history, culture, and values of the traditional Chinese curriculum. It is a school full of energy where learning is cool. Our teachers are smart and they love kids. Teachers partner with students to discover the joy of learning. Our students know things, they surprise adults with knowledge beyond their year. Our students are kind, inquisitive, and industrious. They ask many questions. Our students help each other, and they are friends. They are performers whether giving a tour of the campus, acting on stage, anchoring the swim team, or presenting in class. We work as a team to get better each day as we prepare our students for the great universities of the world.

A new bilingual school

BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen

BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen

We are a bilingual school–Chinese and English–where students are deeply rooted in the language and culture of China’s rich, vibrant, and ancient civilization. Our students have Chinese pride and spirit. At the same time, our students are connected to the globe and receive an American education. They gain broad intellectual and international perspectives. While we have a strong academic focus, ares, music, and drama are front and center; and both students and teachers enjoy the many clubs and sports at our vibrant campus.

Our teachers

Our first-year teachers are our founders, and they work to make BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen a beautiful oasis in the heart of the city. Founders create a positive vibe that rings true from street to courtyard, from courtyard to buildings, and from buildings throughout the grounds. This spirit imbues us to accomplish great things as we get better each day, each week, and each month throughout the year.

Tom Davison is the Head of School at BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen. Opening in September 2020, this will be the first bilingual school in our network. Learn more about opportunities with this exciting new location on our careers website.

I strongly encourage teachers to consider becoming a founding teacher at a school like BASIS. My experience founding two departments for WFL and as an entrepreneur are where I grew the most and refined my skills!
