As the 2026 global university admissions season draws to a close, students at BASIS International & Bilingual Schools · China (BIBS · C) have risen to the occasion. A total of 318 graduates from eight campuses—BASIS International School Shenzhen, BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen, BASIS International School Guangzhou, BASIS International School Park Lane Harbour, BASIS International School Hangzhou, BASIS International School Nanjing, and BASIS International & Bilingual Schools Chengdu —have once again distinguished themselves with college offers on the global academic stage, adding another brilliant chapter to the network’s legacy of excellence.

This year’s graduating class secured four offers from Stanford University and, for the first time, earned offers from Yale University and Brown University. BIBS · C graduates have now received offers from all five HYPSM institutions and all eight Ivy League universities—achieving a remarkable double “grand slam.” As the network enters its second decade, these results mark a significant milestone in international education and are a testament to the sustained commitment and dedication of the BIBS · C community.

97% of Students Admitted to the World’s Top Universities

Of the 315 students who applied to academic universities, 243—representing 77%—were accepted to Top 30 U.S. Universities, Top 10 U.S. Liberal Arts Colleges, Top 5 U.K. Universities, Top 2 Canadian Universities, or Top 1 Hong Kong (China) University. 304 students—representing 97%—were accepted to Top 50 U.S. Universities, Top 20 U.S. Liberal Arts Colleges, Top 10 U.K. Universities, Top 3 Canadian Universities, or Top 3 Hong Kong (China) Universities.

A Crowning Achievement: A Double “Grand Slam” at the Most Prestigious Universities

BASIS International & Bilingual Schools Chengdu

This year, BASIS International & Bilingual Schools Chengdu celebrated their first-ever graduating classes. Together with the six campuses that have previously produced graduates, all eight BIBS · C campuses have now achieved a historic breakthrough in admissions to the world’s most prestigious universities. As of April 8, 2026, the 318 graduates of the Class of 2026 have received 2,195 offers from global universities and more than 9.2 million USD in scholarships. Of the 315 students who applied to academic universities, 42 students—representing 13%—received 52 offers from the world’s most elite institutions: Ivy League universities, Top 10 U.S. Universities, Top 2 U.S. Liberal Arts Colleges, or Top 2 U.K. Universities. These offers include Stanford University, Yale University, the University of Chicago, Duke University, the University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern University, Johns Hopkins University, Cornell University, Brown University, Dartmouth College, Columbia University, Williams College, as well as the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. Notably, nearly 70% of these top U.S. offers were secured in the early application round—a reflection of the exceptional strength our students bring to the most competitive stage of the admissions cycle.

Strong Performance Across Top U.S. Universities

As global applicant numbers rise and admissions standards become more selective, top U.S. universities such as the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, Johns Hopkins University, Cornell University, and Dartmouth College continue to admit BIBS · C students in strong numbers. In the earliest round of admissions, BASIS International School Shenzhen and BASIS International School Park Lane Harbour led the way, securing two early offers from the University of Chicago. Johns Hopkins, ranked seventh nationally and recognized as the world’s first research university, has admitted BIBS · C students for the sixth consecutive year, with offers rising from five last year to six this year, bringing the cumulative total to 25.

Notably, a student from BASIS International School Hangzhou was admitted to the university’s flagship Molecular and Cellular Biology program—a highly selective program that requires students to engage in cutting-edge laboratory research throughout their studies. Northwestern University, also ranked seventh and one of America’s most prestigious private research universities, maintains an overall acceptance rate below 7%, according to Northwestern’s official data. Yet, five more BIBS · C students earned admission this year.

The University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution renowned for its emphasis on experiential learning and interdisciplinary study, reported an acceptance rate of just 4.9% in 2025, according to Penn’s official figures. Following one admission last year, Penn extended two more offers this year across the Early and Regular Decision rounds. This steady growth in BIBS · C offers despite exceptionally low acceptance rates, further affirms BIBS · C’s credibility among the Ivy League institutions. Cornell University extended a total of eight offers to BIBS · C students this year. Among them, BASIS International School Shenzhen received three offers for the third consecutive year. This sustained recognition from one of the world’s top universities stands as a powerful testament to the school’s academic strength and enduring excellence.

Liberal Arts and U.K. University Breakthroughs

Williams College, consistently ranked first among U.S. Liberal Arts Colleges, is as selective as the Ivy League schools. This year, BIBS · C students secured five offers from Williams, including one from BASIS International School Shenzhen, two from BASIS International School Guangzhou, one from BASIS International School Park Lane Harbour, and one from BASIS International School Nanjing, nearly matching the cumulative total of six from all previous graduating classes. This represents a historic breakthrough in liberal arts college admissions. While the U.S. remains the primary destination for BIBS · C graduates, this year’s class secured equally impressive results at the U.K.’s most prestigious institutions. Ten offers from the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge set a new single-year record, raising the cumulative total of Oxbridge admissions across all graduating classes from 16 to 26.

Growth in Top Public and Global University Admission

Among the most competitive U.S. universities, BIBS · C students continue to demonstrate growing strength and a clear competitive edge. The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley)—the flagship campuses of the nation’s leading public university system—saw a surge in applications this year, with UCLA alone receiving over 170,000 applications, the highest in the UC system, according to official UC data. Despite this increasingly competitive landscape, BIBS · C students secured 39 offers from UCLA, up from 11 last year, and 24 from UC Berkeley, an increase of 8 from the previous year. Other leading institutions, such as Rice University, Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor, continued to admit BIBS · C students in strong numbers. Among them, BASIS International School Nanjing stands out with 42% of its students earning admissions to Top 20 U.S. Universities, demonstrating exceptional competitiveness at the highest level.

Expanding Presence in U.K. Universities

In an increasingly competitive U.K. admissions landscape, BIBS · C has significantly expanded its presence among the U.K.’s leading universities—evolving from occasional standout results to widespread success across all eight BIBS · C campuses. Offers from the Top 5 U.K. Universities have reached 171 to date, an increase of over 100 from last year. Imperial College London, ranked third in the U.K., extended 22 offers, a significant leap from 8 last year. University College London, ranked fourth, offered admission to students across all eight campuses, with 72 offers in total—nearly triple last year’s number. In both depth and breadth, BIBS · C is entering a new era of excellence in U.K. university admissions.

Global Reach Beyond the U.S. and U.K.

BIBS · C students have also delivered impressive results beyond the U.S. and U.K. The University of Toronto and the University of Hong Kong, both popular choices, are still releasing offers, yet this year’s graduates have already received 83 and 80 offers respectively—nearly double the Class of 2025 totals. Admissions to Australian universities have also been particularly strong this year, with 33 combined offers from the country’s top three universities: the University of Melbourne, the University of New South Wales, and the University of Sydney. These three major destinations have each shown significant momentum, further solidifying BIBS · C’s strong presence across the global admissions landscape.

Strength in Arts, Design, and Music Pathways

This year’s graduates have pursued a wider range of pathways than ever before. Beyond traditional academic disciplines, art and design, as well as music, remain areas of strength. From the University of the Arts London to Rhode Island School of Design, and from the Royal Academy of Music to Berklee College of Music, the arts are emerging as a vibrant dimension of BIBS · C’s educational achievements.

The University of the Arts London, which consistently ranks among the top in the QS World University Rankings for Art and Design, extended 14 offers to BIBS · C students this year—surpassing the cumulative total of 12 from all previous graduating classes. Leading American art schools—Parsons School of Design at The New School, Rhode Island School of Design, Pratt Institute, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago—extended a combined 24 offers. One student was also admitted to The Courtauld Institute of Art at the University of London, whose Art History program is consistently ranked first in the world, with admissions standards that exceed those of most selective universities. In music, the achievements were equally impressive. One student earned admission to the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University with a generous $112,000 scholarship, while several others received offers from the Royal Academy of Music and Berklee College of Music, among the world’s most prestigious conservatories.

These results are a powerful affirmation of the BIBS · C approach to arts education. Grounded in academic rigor while reaching far beyond it, BIBS · C nurtures well-rounded students through robust athletics programs, arts experiences, and extracurricular activities. Across campuses, painting, photography, theater, and concerts run throughout the year, while a network-wide arts community brings students and faculty together through collaborative events such as the Choral Festival, Devised Theater Festival, and Band Festival. These sustained, year-round experiences give students a distinct edge in their university applications. Several students with deep involvement in BIBS · C arts programs have leveraged those experiences to earn admission to leading universities such as, the University of California, Berkeley, the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Southern California, and NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Excelling in academics and thriving in the arts, BIBS · C students are redefining what excellence looks like.

Excellence and Long-Term Impact

True strength reveals itself over time. As admission to the world’s top universities grows more competitive each year, BIBS · C, with its deep academic foundations and commitment to unlocking student potential, is earning broader recognition through results that stand the test of time. This recognition is further reinforced by the continued excellence of BIBS · C alumni at their universities. Behind these steadily improving results lies a relentless pursuit of progress across every aspect of school life—from academic management and student activities to operational support and campus services—driven by the collective effort and shared commitment of the entire BIBS · C community.
