Establishing a Strong Foundation

I’m Nicole Sittie, and I’ve played a significant role in establishing BASIS International School Guangzhou since it opened in 2017. As a founding faculty member, I’ve held various leadership positions at the school, including Dean, Vice Head of Primary, Head of Early Childhood, and Vice Head of School. Starting in August 2024, I will assume the role of Head of the Lower School at BASIS International School Nanjing, where I will oversee the Early Childhood and Primary School divisions.

Looking back on my time at BASIS International School Guangzhou, I take immense pride in the collaboration that established a highly competitive Early Childhood Division there. We achieved remarkable yearly results, resulting in a growing waiting list and an enthusiastic learning environment for our dedicated ECE educators and students. Our faculty professional development programs are customized, thorough, and fully aligned with the highest standards of early childhood education.

I greatly enjoy supporting educators and refining policies to create optimal learning environments that foster student academic achievement. As someone who enjoys interacting with others, I find it motivating to work with passionate educators eager to collaborate and create a supportive, engaging, and challenging learning environment that encourages students to take risks and grow.

Joining the BASIS International School Nanjing Community

I have already had the opportunity to meet the teaching and management team at BASIS International School Nanjing. I am impressed by the strong sense of community and pride the BASIS International School Nanjing faculty members have for their school. I am excited to join this team and work together to develop current and innovative practices that will support the growth of students and teachers.

The Power of the BASIS International & Bilingual Schools Network

Being part of the BASIS International & Bilingual Schools network has greatly benefited my transition. The network teams I work with remain consistent, and our unwavering commitment to improving teaching and learning practices as Heads of Division is crucial to our success.

BASIS Bilingual Kindergarten Nanshan, Ms.Concita Kenedy, Head of ECE at BASIS International School Hangzhou and Jessica Loots, Head of Early Childhood at
